Welcome to What Mama Knows!
The purpose of this blog is to share Christian encouragement for moms.
If you are a mom of young children, this is the kind of thing you might be hearing:
- don’t worry, it’s only for a season
- this too shall pass
- coffee and chocolate will get you through
And honestly, there’s something to that. When my eldest son was born, it was encouraging to know that I wasn’t alone in feeling totally underslept and absolutely de-skilled.
But I came to realize two things:
- it’s not enough to really keep you going when motherhood is tough
- there’s so much more to say about motherhood than that
The whole counsel of God teaches us to see motherhood as God sees it. And that’s where the solid food is, the stuff to truly keep us going. The Word that makes us flourish like trees planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in this and every season the Lord brings us.
So here’s what I aim to do:
On Wednesdays I post a short reflection on a Bible passage I’m currently studying. At the moment, I’m spending some time in the book of Ruth and I share that here.
I would love to hear from you! Share how the Lord is encouraging you – email firstname.lastname@example.org, or leave a comment after any post. Follow along on Pinterest and Facebook too.
